Description
Barrow Island Nature Reserve is renowned for the variety and abundance of native mammals, many of which are now extinct on the mainland. It is also one of the most important nesting areas for marine turtles. Oil has been produced on the nature reserve for over 30 years and there is also a proposal to process gas from the Gorgon fields on the island.
